The Roosevelt Institution knows that students have access to the freshest insights and the best resources out there. Students have the support of research institutions, professors who have worked in and wrote on policy topics, and the skills in analytical thinking that liberal education has given them.

These students are uniquely (and perhaps best) poised to create sound and innovative plans for change. And over the past year, they've made good on their promise. Roosevelt Institution members have developed dozens of policy ideas for Clean Energy, Access to Higher Education, and Working Families.

Of all those policy proposals, the 25 best in each category have been selected and published in our 25 Ideas books. Those volumes will be premiered at the Policy Expo, and many of the students who wrote them will personally deliver presentations and answer questions on their policy proposals.

Also, three prominent leaders will speak throughout the day, including John Podesta, the president of the Center for American Progress.

The event is a combination of presentation, conversation, and celebration. Roosevelt students will present their ideas on the three Roosevelt Challenge topics, and the three 25 Ideas volumes will be launched. After that, students, professionals and public leaders will come together in a conversation to discuss and ultimately select three new Roosevelt Challenges for the coming year. This conversation will include everyone in attendance, and promises to be an exhilarating experience in the fundamental process of political involvement.
