George Blair, International Affairs Staff Writer
George Blair is currently a junior at The George Washington University majoring in International Affairs and Economics. Born and raised in Florida, George left the Sunshine State and came to Washington in order to further develop his weltanschauung within a strict academic framework centered around the study of Economics. As an intern for Newt Gingrich at The American Enterprise Institute, George has committed himself to the principles of free market capitalism and social responsibility that he believes will ensure American preeminence in the near future. A devotee to capital markets, George is also a fixed-income analyst with Bear, Stearns, & Co. Next year George will be studying at the London School of Economics where he will continue to work for Bear Stearns Investment.

Niketa Brar, Political Philosophy Staff Writer
Niketa Brar is a third year student in the Elliott School of International Affairs, majoring in International Affairs and Public Policy. A pre-law student, Niketa currently competes on GW’s nationally ranked mock trial team and also serves on the executive board of the student organization. In her spare time, she writes for the Hatchet, the nation’s top-ranked non-daily college newspaper. Spending her childhood amongst stays in the Middle East, Chicago, and California, Niketa is an avid traveler who hopes to visit every civilized continent by the age of 25.

Tim Edge, International Affairs Staff Writer
Tim Edge is a junior in the Elliott School of International Affairs, majoring in International Affairs with a concentration in the Middle East. In addition to contributing to the International Relations section of GW Discourse, he has also written for the GWU Euonymous Online E-Anthology of First-Year Writing in 2006. Tim is currently learning Modern Standard Arabic and plans to study abroad next year in Granada, Spain, and Cairo, Egypt. In the future, he hopes to become fluent in both Arabic and Spanish and use his linguistic skills to bridge the divisions between the peoples of the world. His interests include Arabic linguistics, Islamic studies, modern and ancient civilizations, international relations, and the greater search for Truth.

Ashley Fleishman, Political Philosophy Senior Staff Writer
Ashley Fleishman is a sophomore in the school of Media and Public Affairs majoring in Journalism with minors in Spanish and Economics. Ashley is an active member of Phi Sigma Sigma and is currently interning at the World Environment Center.

William King, Domestic Affairs Staff Writer
William King is a senior in the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences, majoring in Political Science with a minor in English. For the last three years, he has worked for the law firm of Steptoe and Johnson, LLP as a paralegal assistant working the white collar litigation department. In that role, he has worked on several high profile cases and assisted at trial. William is a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and has helped manage two school wide campaigns, including one as legal counsel, and a legal affairs editor for GW Discourse.

Jesse Mayer, Political Philosophy Senior Staff Writer
Jesse Mayer is a Senior in the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences, majoring in Political Science. He is currently working on his thesis, analyzing the diverse political movement in favor of reforming the criminal justice system. He is a peer mediator with the Conflict Resolution Center, in addition to being a member of the Disability Support Services Speakers' Bureau. A Brooklyn native, he is a fan of the New York Yankees. On summer weekends, he can usually be found at his weekly softball game- playing with friends he has known for 15 years.

Sean Redding, Domestic Affairs Staff Writer
Sean Redding is a sophomore in the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences, majoring in Political Science (with a public policy focus) and History. Sean writes for the Domestic Affairs section of GW Discourse. He is also the coordinator of GW Students Taking Action Now: Darfur, as well as the national Communications Coordinator for STAND: A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition, the national student division of the Genocide Intervention Network. He is also a Staff Writer for the GW Hatchet and the GW Statesman, the College Democrats' newsletter. Sean hails from the Chicagoland area and loves reading, writing, and watching Friends and The West Wing

Nick Miller, Domestic Affairs Staff Writer
Nick Miller is a junior in the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences, majoring in Political Science. In addition to writing for GW Discourse, he is a political columnist and Opinion Editor for The Daily Colonial, GW's first and only daily news source. Hailing from Maine, Nick is a loyal Red Sox fan and brother to six.

Clayton M. McCleskey, International Affairs Staff Writer
Clayton McCleskey is a Junior in the Elliott School of International Affairs, majoring in International Affairs major with a concentration on Europe and a minor in German. A recipient of a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarship, Clayton will be studying at the Humboldt University in Berlin during the 2007-2008 school year. In addition, Clayton completed a course of study in European economics and German politics at the University of Würzburg, Germany. Clayton is a Senior Staff Writer and Columnist for the GW Hatchet newspaper, and he attended the International Media Seminar, held in Paris during the Spring of 2007. A proud native Texan, Clayton worked in the Washington Bureau for Dallas-based Belo Broadcasting/The Dallas Morning News, and has also interned at the Embassy of Liechtenstein.
Julie Silverbrook, Domestic Affairs Staff Writer
Julie Silverbrook is a Senior in the Columbian College of Arts and Science majoring in Political Science.  Julie is a Luther Rice Fellowship award recipient and was recently elected in her Junior year as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.  Her specific focus within Political Science is on American Political Thought and Constitutional law and theory.  Upon graduation, she hopes to pursue a JD with a focus on Constitutional Law. 
Shannon Holmes, Domestic Affairs Staff Writer
Shannon Holmes is a Senior in the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences, majoring in American Studies, and minoring in Sociology and Secondary Urban Education. Currently, Shannon serves as the Gelman Library Student Liaison and Community Relations Chair for the Alpha Delta Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) national leadership honor society. She is also a resident of The George Washington Williams House, LLC and served as President of the Black Student Union during the 2006-2007 academic year. Being from Virginia Beach, Shannon enjoys watching sunrises with her family at the Oceanfront and driving with the windows down and the music up. Her passion for leadership and education is what drives her to love teaching and providing opportunities for others' success.
Hunter Patterson, Domestic Affairs Staff Writer
Hunter Patterson is a Sophomore in the Elliott School of International Affairs majoring in International Affairs, concentrating in International Environmental Resources. Besides his duties as a Staff Writer for the American Politics section of Discourse, he also is an Associate Editor for GW's conservative periodical The Patriot as well as PR chair for Colonials for Life. He is a founder of the newly re-formed Epsilon chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity, serving as Chapter Editor. Hunter is an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Mavericks and the Texas Tech Raid Raiders. A life-long Texian, Hunter takes a lot of pride in is Texas Heritage.
Alex Holt, International Affairs Staff Writer
Alex Holt is a freshman at the George Washington University majoring in Political Communication in the School of Media and Public Affairs. Alex starts this year at GWU with the experience of being the Editor for Investigative Journalism for the K-O News, his high school newspaper. Alex is dedicated to making people aware of important information about the world around them in an interesting and unbiased manner. Alex hopes to perfect his Spanish and learn Arabic, as well as visit the Middle East before he graduate from GWU.
Sergei Shev, Domestic Affairs Staff Writer
Sergei Shev is a junior at the Elliott School of International Affairs, double majoring in International Affairs and Economics. He is also member of the The George Washington University Men's Water Polo team. Sergei is a staunch advocate of investor rights, and most of his writing reflects his passion. He is also a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, for which he is Chairman of Fraternity Relations.
 
Seth Weinstein, Domestic Affairs Staff Writer
Seth Weinstein is a senior in the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences, majoring in political science and history. In addition to his participationg in GW Discourse, Seth is a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity and Republican Jewish Coalition. He has served
in numerous professional roles as a Congressional Intern for Congressman Eric Cantor, researcher for the Citizens Against Government Waste, and as personal assistant to Congressional candidate David McSweeney in the 2006 midterm elections. His interests are
taxes, government spending, and Constitutional rights.

Dan Burd, Copy Editor
Dan is a Junior majoring in International Affairs.  More importantly, Dan is the guy who will interrupt you mid-sentence to tell you that you've made a grammatical mistake.  Thus, he thoroughly enjoys copy editing for the GW Discourse. Dan is also a massive fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and currently studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
